3. In RAR 3.91 -x switch could also exclude folders from archiving even if mask contained wilcard characters and did not contain a path. For example, -x*. excluded all those folders, which do not have the extension in the name. Now -x switch uses RAR 3.80 approach for masks without path, excluding folders only if mask does not contain wildcards and matches the folder name exactly.

4. Bugs fixed:

a) WinRAR 3.91 reported the incorrect "Unexpected end of archive" error, when opening an empty ZIP archive created with "New WinRAR ZIP archive" context menu command;

b) if "Delete archive" option was enabled when unpacking several ZIP archives and if one of archives was damaged, WinRAR did not delete archives after the damaged one, even if they were unpacked successfully;

The game, set in the distant future, lets you command one of three human factions. There’s the United Earth Federation, which represents empire and order; the Cybran Nation, a cybernetic faction fighting for its freedom; and the Aeon Illuminate, an alien-inspired human faction that seeks galactic harmony through force. You can lead any faction to victory in Supreme Commander, but at the end of the game an alien race bursts upon the scene. That alien race is the subject of THQ and developer Gas Powered Games’ stand-alone expansion, titled Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Features:

The new faction is the Seraphim, the alien race that the xenophobic human settlers had wiped out, and that had given rise to the Aeon. With help from QAI, they came back from another galaxy and intend to purge the galaxy. The Seraphim, being technologically superior than even the Aeon, have stronger units, but fewer of them than the other races.

New units

Each faction receives ten new units, including one new experimental each. New units include the Cybran Brick, and Megalith - a new spider bot that is twice the size of the monkey lord. It is a mobile factory, and is amphibious, sporting 12 torpedo launchers and the large lasers as shown in the trailer. The Aeon receive a sniper bot, the “sprite striker”, and “Torrent”, a new missile ship. The UEF receive the “percival”, a new armoured assault bot, as well as the “Spearhead”, a mobile missile platform that fires 3 missiles simultaneously.

* Superior AI

The AI in Forged Alliance is far superior to the AI that was in Supreme Commander. If you’re new to Supreme Commander, playing against the easy AI is the best way to become accustomed to the basic game mechanics. The Easy AI will focus on building defenses rather than attacking, so you’ll be free to expand your area of operations and build up a massive army.

Microsoft Reduce Collection IP Address in Bing

BRUSSELS - Microsoft plans to reduce the storage period at Bing IP address from 18 months to only 6 months. This plan follows a request from the forum data privacy European countries.

According to Microsoft, this change will make Bing becomes a better choice for Internet users very concerned with privacy. Android OS Developer Presents For PC

San Francisco - A group of developers who call themselves Android-x86, develop Android on the x86 platform, so OS (Operating Systems) Google's can be used to run a series netbook Asus Eee PC.

In the site, community-x86 mention Android, just a few months after creating a patch that lets Android running on the x86 platform, they are aware of these findings can be developed further. This group then decided to further develop the basic code that they find in order to support other x86 platforms and to hosting on their servers.

"This project first aims to provide a complete solution for Android on the Eee PC platform, and for the x86 platform," wrote Android-x86 on their website, as quoted by TG Daily, Thursday (21/1/2010).

So far, the developer has tested their findings in most series netbook Asus Eee PC. Among a series of Eee PC 701 series, 701SD, 900, 900A, 901, 904HD, 1000, 1000HE, 1000HD, 1005HAG, S101, T91 (VESA mode) and Eee Top 1602C. These findings could also work on the Lenovo ThinkPad x61 tablet. All of the above devices is known to run in native resolution (800x480 or 1024x600) through the i915 driver, which all run on Linux Kernel 2.6.29 with kernel mode-setting (KMS) enabled.

In addition to developing Android to use the PC even further, this development group plans to develop an external monitor, support Bluetooth support, power management better, support multi-touch touchpad, as well as 3G and GPS features.

Adding TELKOM International Bandwidth Capacity 960 Gbps

PT.Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (TELKOM) through its subsidiaries engaged in international business PT.Telekomunikasi International Indonesia (TII), on January 18, 2010 in Honolulu USA has signed an agreement to join the Sea Cable Development Consortium South East Asia Japan Cable System (SJC) or better known as the SJC.

SJC Sea Cable System will connect Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and other Asian countries including Indonesia and will have the largest bandwidth capacity of the existing sea cable with a total capacity of 17 Tbps and bandwidth can be upgraded up to 23 Tbps.

TII addition, some operators in the world join SJC consortium including Reliance Globalcom (via FLAG Pacific Limited Bermuda), Globe Telecom (Philippines), Google SJC Bermuda Ltd., KDDI (Japan), Network i2i (India), Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. and Pacific Telemedia inc., Ltd.. (Hong Kong / Indonesia).

"Participation in the Consortium SJC TII is a strategic step to strengthen the international infrastructure networks that already exist," explained President of TII, Mulia P. Tambunan. Here are three new images from Scott Stewarts upcoming horror-action movie Legion, starring Paul Bettany as an archangel who voluntarily falls to Earth to save the savior of mankind. Unfortunately said savior hasnt been born yet, and his mom is a diner waitress played by Adrianne Palicki. Luckily for our warrior angel, the diner also has some battling humans to lend a hand, including Dennis Quaid, Charles S. Dutton, Tyrese Gibson, and Lucas Black. Hell need them too, when theyre surrounded by angels.

Scott Stewart's supernatural thriller Legion, scripted by Peter Schink, concerns a group of strangers in an out-of-the-way eatery who become the first line of defense when God, believing the human race is no longer worthy of Him, decides to end their existence. ASUS Motherboard's USB 3.0 Support

French Retailers Push E-Book Platform

Five of France's biggest book sellers called on publishing houses and the government for support in creating a new retail structure for electronic books to fend off Amazon, Google and Apple.

Executives from the five retailers including PPR subsidiary Fnac and Virgin Megastore said France should have a national e-book platform run by publishers and retailers with a single point of purchase.

But the idea, launched at a joint news conference on Wednesday, drew a skeptical reaction from France's largest publisher, Hachette Livre, a subsidiary of Lagardere.

They also urged the French government to extend protective measures already in place for physical books to e-books, including a single-price mechanism to muzzle competition.

"If we don't manage to do this, what's going to happen? We will find ourselves in front of a platform, or hub, already made by a private company ... whether Amazon, Google or Apple," said Guillaume Decitre, head of bookseller Decitre.

Decitre said the filtering of Internet portals in China and Amazon's removal of George Orwell's "1984" from its e-book platform were examples of why this was undesirable.

The proposal comes a day after the publication of a government report supporting a digital book exchange with Google to resolve a spat over online publication of the world's literary heritage.

A spokesperson for the French Ministry of Culture was unavailable for comment.

PUBLISHER PLEA

Although Decitre and his fellow CEOs said they and their supporters represented 70 percent of the French book market, they said they needed the backing of publishers to get content.

French publishers including Hachette have already set up their own individual platforms for distributing e-books, but Decitre said a single collective platform would be "three to five times" cheaper.

Hachette Livre sales director Francis Lang said he was not opposed to a hub, but said the interests of publishers were currently not the same as those of physical booksellers.

"Creating a governance structure where everyone is around the table but their interests are opposed is the best way for this not to go anywhere," he said.

The chief executive of Hachette's Numilog e-book platform, Daniel Zwirn, also criticized a similar collective e-book hub in Germany, known as Libreka, which the five retailers said had partly served as inspiration for their idea.

"It seems like a good idea, but actually it isn't," he told the retail executives during the conference. "The bulk of the offering goes elsewhere."

Spokespeople from Amazon and Google declined to comment.

"This will probably be uniquely French if it succeeds," said James McQuivey, an analyst with Forrester Research. "Obviously it would be the combination of cultural preservation interests that tend to be unique to France."

"(If publishers and retailers) do cooperate, it's not because it's in their interests," he added. "(It's more about) preserving the culture."
